The Library Theatre Company present
Arabian Nights by Dominic Cooke
30 November 2012 - 12 January 2013
- Presented at The Lowry, Quays Theatre
Long, long ago in a faraway land there lived a clever young girl called Shahrazad. And there was nothing she liked better than to read stories…
Longing to free her town and its vengeful king from the dark demons that haunt them, Shahrazad brings to life the magical stories of One Thousand and One Nights. Her strange and wonderful tales take us to enchanted caves, to meet secret sorceresses, singing trees, flying men and wise talking birds. But can the power of the stories break the terrible curse?
Adapted from the world famous folk tales this production of Arabian Nights is a visually stunning production presented “in the round” with fabulous costumes and set pieces – an imaginative delight for Christmas that will keep both children and adults spellbound.
As featured in The Times Top 50 Shows to see this Christmas

If you don’t fancy pantomime but you want a great show to take the whole family to this festive season, then Arabian Nights should be high on your list.
Directed with imagination by Amy Leach… Where other festive shows tend to lean towards excess, Arabian Nights lets the words and company stand front and centre, and it’s a real breath of fresh air.
A sumptuous and sensory feast… Arabian Nights will enthrall and entertain over the two-and-a-half hour ride.
